Drinks Reception (Elizabeth & Jonathan)

Filmed during the family photography at Heaton House Farm near Macclesfield. A very windy day but no-one seems to mind. Good music choice really helps make this sequence. By mixing the natural sound carefully with the music to ensure that you can still hear the guests gives a sense of how much people were enjoying themselves.

Exchange of Rings (Helen & Tim)

Exchange of rings during a Church of England service. A good example of how important it is to get the sound right. So much is conveyed in the audio and we take a great deal of care to make sure it is recorded and mixed accurately to preserve the occasion.

Highlights (Paula & David)

Powerful highlights from the end of Paula & David's film. The reception was at Sandhole Barn near Congleton. The music is quite dramatic so it was important to have the right shots and cut it in such a way that the music does not overwhelm the most important aspect - the emotion of the couple and guests.

Table Decorations and Receiving Line (Katie & Christian)

Table shots and the line-up from Katie and Christian's Wedding filmed at Wrenbury Hall, Nantwich.

So much time and money is spent on the design for the wedding breakfast it's important to capture it to show exactly the effect the Bride had in mind.

We also see a little of the receiving line as the couple welcomes each guest into the room. Some quick cutting here allows us to recreate the moment in a short space of time.

Evening Reception (Laura & Ashley)

Part of the evening sequence, filmed at Davenport Green Hall in Hale Barns.

After the speeches, some upbeat music is brought in to shift the mood from the earlier, formal parts of the day to the fun of the disco later. We think this natural style of filming is preferable to setting up shots or staging action. And it means the couple can spend more time enjoying their wedding!

Opening Sequence (Rob & Jenny)

An opening sequence from Rob and Jenny's Wedding at Soughton Hall. Many different pieces of music were tried to make this one work - a good example of how the right music can really tie a sequence together.

Civil Exchange of Rings (Ellen & Gary)

Exchange of rings during a civil service at Mottram Hall. Two manned cameras make all the difference to filming a civil ceremony. The alternating perspectives show what the guests see but also what the couple see. Clear sound, again, very important to the emotional effect.

Bride Arrives (David & Jenny)

Jenny arrives at Church with her Dad, whilst David nervously waits inside with his Bestman.

The sound mix needed to work well here as I wanted people to hear what was being said whilst still having the music in the background.

Also, cutting between the Bride outside and the Groom inside helps recreate the tension they would have experienced on the day.

Greeting Guests After The Service (Rachel & Peter)

A hot day outside St Vincent's RC Church in Knutsford.

There is no music here - it would have meant losing the atmosphere created by this friendly family.

We were able to get close-in to record this part of the wedding. Because there is so much going on, nobody paid the camera the least bit of attention and the result is all the more natural for it.

Opening Sequence (Paddy & Kate)

Opening sequence filmed on a cold February at Christ Church in Timperley.

It was important to get the natural sense of fun which ran through this wedding. Too much time spent on dull shots of the Church would have held it back. I wanted to get into the action quickly. It was a brisk day and there was loads of nervous energy. I tried to keep it moving to reflect this.
